Hi David – thanks for your comment. The Liberation Men is a fictional war drama film, inspired by actual wartime Dutch liberation stories. Canadians played a huge role in the liberation of the Netherlands, and the film stands as a fictional tribute to Canadians role in the liberation of a lot of small towns, including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague.(see https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/liberation-of-holland#:~:text=The%20Canadians%20were%20greeted%20as,Amsterdam%2C%20Rotterdam%20and%20The%20Hague.)
