I wanted to draw some attention to a new 2024 Wall calendar, now available on the Legion Magazine’s website entitled ‘EYES OF WAR’ – click on the image to visit the link;

I recently received my copy and was impressed with the selection of images, advertised as “The Best Conflict Photography”.

Visitors to this website will recognize some of the names of the photographers; Paul E. Tomelin; Don Grant; and Gilbert Milne. But the calendar also includes some names not so familiar to Canadians; Roger Fenton; William Ivor Castle; and William Rider Rider.

To read more about these photographers, I highly recommend visiting the Legion Magazine’s online article written by by Stephen J. Thorne; The eyes of war – Looking back at the best of conflict photography.

The article provides some informational background on each of the photographers, as well as images that await you in the new 2024 Wall Calendar EYES OF WAR.

A photograph’s message can be profound. It can awaken, inspire, educate and change. Photographs made in troubled times can be especially impactful, and no times are more troubled than wartime.

A great gift idea, as well as a handy information resource to some of the names and people that documented the worlds conflicts. I highly recommend picking up a copy or two.
