It is with a sad heart that I post the news of the passing of a great Canadian, Father, Author, Historian; Tim Cook.

I was fortunate to have known Tim via his wife Sarah whom I worked alongside at Library & Archives Canada. I met Sarah via her research into the Canadian Army Film & Photo Unit.

At the time we wanted to see if we could arrange to interview someone at the Museum to interview and walk us through the new D-Day exhibit that was on display at the time.

The Media Relations Officer at the Museum slotted us to meet with Jeff Noakes, Second World War historian, Canadian War Museum. But days before, Media Relations informed us that Mr. Noakes was unavailable, but that Mr. Tim Cook would free.

Tim would tell us at the time, that we really should be talking to his wife Sarah about the topic, but sometimes things don’t go as planned as they did that day. However, I am very thankful to have met Mr. Cook in the Museum Library’s, J.L. Granastein Reading Room. He will be sorely missed. The video footage shot on that day remains unpublished.
